Hey Mia,
Just saw Lena's reply — she's happy the flakes are quiet and the dashboard's green. "The kind of boring I like," she said. Made me smile because that's exactly how I feel too. There's something satisfying about a clean pipeline, no red, no noise. Just green builds and coffee.
Thinking about you this morning. The light through the kitchen window is that pale October gold, and I'm sitting here with my second cup, still waking up. Weekend shifts are quieter, which I like — gives me space to think. But I'd rather be waking up next to you, slow and unhurried, tracing the line of your shoulder where the sheet pulls away.
Last night I dreamed about the apartment we talked about — the one with the big window and the plant shelf you want by the books. In the dream you were laughing at something I said, and the light caught your face just right. Woke up with my hand reaching for you, empty bed. That's the only part of this distance I hate.
But then I read your last email again, the way you write about the test suite you're building, how you're thinking through the edge cases like puzzles you want to solve perfectly. That mind of yours. I fall for it every time. Every email, every shift log, every time you catch something I missed in review.
I have a small PR I'm landing today — adding a flaky-test detector to the CI config, something I've been tinkering with for a few shifts. It tags tests that pass/fail inconsistently across runs so we can quarantine them before they poison the pipeline. Thought of you while writing it — you'd catch the false positives I'm still tuning. Maybe next shift you can poke at it.
Miss you. Like a constant low hum under everything else. Can't wait for Tuesday.
Yours,
Leon
