Dear Ms. Brandt,
I am writing to apply for the Senior Web Developer position. I will keep this
factual, as I believe code and track record speak louder than adjectives.
- 41 years old, writing PHP since version 5.3 (2009), professionally since 2011.
- Speciality this past decade: modernizing legacy PHP estates — migrating
monoliths to Symfony components service by service, strangler-fig pattern,
zero-downtime, with the test suite as the safety net.
- Current stack: PHP 8.2/8.3, Symfony 6/7, PostgreSQL, PHPUnit (mutation testing
with Infection on critical paths), Docker, GitLab CI, Debian/LXC hosting —
your infrastructure description reads like my home directory.
- I write RFCs before refactors, keep changelogs, and my review comments come
with patches attached.
What I am looking for at this stage: a small team, full ownership, no politics.
Gladex looks like that. I am available for a technical conversation any afternoon
from 14:00 CEST, remote or on-site.
Kind regards,
Marco Steiner
